Overview

The Stand Up India scheme launched on April 05, 2016 at Noida, (Uttar Pradesh) by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India is based on recognition of the challenges faced by SC, ST and women entrepreneurs in setting up enterprises, obtaining loans and other support needed from time to time for succeeding in business.

The objective of scheme is to promote entrepreneurship amongst the SC/ST and women. The scheme aims to create job opportunities, wherein, “Job Seekers will become Job Creators”. The proposed scheme shall facilitate eligible borrowers to avail composite loans between Rs 10 lakhs upto Rs 100 lakhs to SC/ ST and women enterprises for green field projects.

A portal for the scheme (www.standupmitra.in) was also launched on the same day. This portal helps potential borrowers in getting details on the handholding support available, details of various projects which may be implemented as well as helps borrowers in applying for credit facilities.

IDBI Bank launched the “Stand Up India’ Scheme on a pan India basis on the occasion of the 125th birth anniversary of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar on 14th of April 2016. During the launch, prominent SC/ST and women entrepreneurs were invited at all regional locations of the Bank on pan India basis to familiarize them with the scheme. Eligible beneficiaries were issued loan sanction letters as per the scheme guidelines.
